Walk

Exochori is an ideal base for exploring the area on foot.

The Mani, which is the peninsula south of Kalamata, is famed for its natural beauty. You can enjoy the spectacular descent of the Viros Gorge which cuts dramatically between the villages of Exochori and Tseria, reaching the sea at Kardamili.

Paths extend down to the coast (approx 6kms) via old cobbled mule tracks. There are also opportunities to explore the mountains behind the village including the summit of the Taygetos Range, (Profitas Ilias 2400m). As the village is at a height of 500m you already have 'one foot on the mountain'.

One of your hosts, Caroline, is a qualified and experienced guide. As well as working for a local company, she runs walking holidays for Walking Women UK. She is available to help you plan your own walking itineraries during your stay.

Guided walks are also available if you would like to find out more about history, wildlife and traditions as you walk through the surrounding villages and olive groves.
