New for 2017

We have teamed up with Shutterbugs Photography for a one-off Photography Holiday

Photography Trip 'The Undiscovered Mani' - 7 nights

Saturday 29th April-Saturday 6th May 2017

We will discover rustic villages, unspoilt beaches and numerous Byzantine churches full of beautiful carved-marble stonework and frescoes. Due to the remoteness of the area and the independent nature of its inhabitants it has developed a very distinct society from the rest of mainland Greece. The architecture of the area consists of tower houses and fortified family homes (the distinctive Maniot towers)

Our base, Kardamili, is a spectacularly beautiful coastal village, situated in the northern part of the Mani. We will be staying at the superb Liakoto hotel

Graham Parish – our photography tutor – Graham has been a photographer since he gained a degree in photography in 1981. His studios have been mainly located in Bristol. Running an advertising studio for many years he moved into landscape photography. Still passionate about photography & wanting to share this passion he began teaching a variety of workshops and courses in and around Bristol & Bath in 2008. He is now combining these workshops with his love of travel by developing photography trips in Europe under the name ShutterBugs

Caroline Herbert – our tour guide/manager – Caroline’s home is in the mountain village of Exochori, in the mountains above Kardamili. She is well versed in the history and culture of the area and brings a local flavour to our trip. She will take us to the hidden gems of the area. Dividing her time between guiding groups in Greece and the UK she has grown to really love the Mani over the past 10 years, and it can still surprise her. “Spring is my favourite time here, it is impossible not to be enchanted by the display of wildflowers and the the crisp blue skies over the mountains. Each year I find another vista that takes my breath away.”

“Caroline is a great guide, well organised and with good local knowledge, she really brought the area to life” Mary, Walking Women May 2016.

“We came on this holiday because we met someone in Crete who told us about Caroline, they came on a trip last year. So here we are!” Piet, Ross Holidays. May 2016.
